Manitoba's Credit Unions Scholar Athlete

Adam Erickson of J.H. Bruns Collegiate participates in volleyball, basketball and badminton.  Captain of the Broncos volleyball team and a starter on their South Central Athletic Conference Champions basketball team, Adam was also selected to the Manitoba Volleyball Association’s Graduating All-Star Team.  He maintains a 94.2% academic average even scored 100% on the provincial pre-calculus exam.  Adam is a peer tutor for mathematics and was involved in the fundraising program for graduation.  He was head coach of the grade 8 boys volleyball team at Shamrock School, and also volunteered at the Louis Riel School division middle years track meet and refereed basketball and volleyball.

Adam states, “High school sports have had a major influence in my life.  They make me feel like I am playing for something bigger than myself: I am playing for my teammates, my coaches, my friends, my family, and most importantly, my school……It is amazing how many life long friendships can result from being part of a group, no matter how successful you are…..I have learned that nothing in life comes easy, and in order to be successful, I must put in many hours of hard work, physically and mentally.”
