Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Urban High School Athlete of the week is Asha Gurney of the Lord Selkirk Royals volleyball team.

This 6’0” middle and co-captain for the Royals helped lead the team to the championship at the Royal Rumble Invitational.  Coach Kyla Michalski states, “Asha has been a dominate leader for the Royals volleyball team this year.  Her leadership skills have been evident on and off the court.  She led the team to the championship at the Royal Rumble with her strong middle attacks and blocks.”

In grade 12, she maintains a 96% academic average, while also participating in cross country, hockey, and track & field.
