Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Ryleigh Leece of the Cartwright Cougars Track & Field team.

Leece displayed tremendous athleticism at the Zone 6 Track & Field Championships, winning all three of her events, long jump, high jump, and Javelin.  Her success led to her being named the Athlete of the Meet for her division with a score of 24 points, the maximum that can be achieved at the meet.  Coach Riley Kemp states, "This is just another feather in the cap for Kyleigh as earlier this year she led her Varsity Volleyball Team to provincials, winning the Player's Choice Award, showing that her athleticism is only surpassed by her sportsmanship.  She is the first to cheer on teammates and opponents alike".   

In grade 11 she maintains a 94% academic average, while also having competed for the school cross country and volleyball teams.
