Payworks Coach of the Month

Dustin Hughes has been the head coach for the Garden City Fighting Gophers since 2018. During this time he has taken the program to the next level while competing in the WHSHL top Platinum Promotions division.  

Dustin has given up countless hours coaching the team along with running the Hockey Academy for each grade level at Garden City. He continuously works hard for this program organizing on and off ice training, video analysis, and community-based activities that his teams have been involved with since day one.    

Dustin has created a high tradition to the school in a very short period of time.  With his own personal experience along with advanced technical and strategic knowledge it has allowed the team to have an extremely successful regular season going 23-0-1. The team has also won all three of their tournaments that they have entered this year with an additional record of 14-0.  They are currently the number one ranked team in the AAAA category. 

Dustin is also very involved coaching various multiple minor hockey teams in the St. James area.
