Payworks Coach of the Month
Jared Dueck has been the Varsity Girls coach for the last 10 (2 seasons lost to covid-19) years at the Rosenort School, starting his very first year as a teacher after graduation. Balancing fatherhood, his job as a teacher and coaching our girls program has been challenging and rewarding. Through his tenure as head coach, of the 8 seasons he has led the team, 5 years the team qualified for the provincial championships. In those 5 years he has coached those various teams to two bronze medals, a silver medal and just this last weekend a gold medal. That gold medal marked the very first provincial basketball championship that Rosenort School has ever had in its history in either girls or boys. The win in Saturday's final in Souris put two undefeated team against each other with the Hapnot Kopper Queens squaring off againsts Coach Dueck's Redhawks. Someone's oh had to go... the Redhawks trailed by 10 at half, but Coach Dueck rallied his team in the second half to comeback and pull off a stunning 67-59 victory, capping the season off at an unprecedented 25-0 with gold medals around their necks and a provincial banner and trophy gracing out gym and hallway respectively for the first time.
