Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Connor Martin of the Killarney/Wawanesa Raiders hockey team.

Martin led the Raiders to the silver medal at the Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Provincial AA Hockey Championships, where he was named a Provincial All-Star.  He followed that up leading the Raiders to the semi-finals of the Westman High School Hockey League Championships, highlighted by a 4 goal and 4 assist effort in their 8-5 game one victory of that series.  He was second leading scorer in the league with 51 goals and 66 assists in 36 games played. Coach Michael Reykdal states, "Connor is captain of the Raiders and huge part of the team's success. Connor is a great example of a student athlete, always putting academics first and sport second". 

In grade 11 he maintains an 83% academic average.
