Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Gianna Watt of the Hapnot Kopper Kweens in Flin Flon.

A multi-sport athlete for the Kopper Kweens, Watt has participated on several sports team this year including soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and track & field.  She most recently won the Zone 11 girls' singles tile in badminton, advancing to the Provincial Badminton Championships this coming weekend. Previously this year she has already led her teams to a provincial bronze medal in soccer, and provincial silver medals in volleyball and basketball.  She was named an all-star in all three championships.  Later this month, Gianna will also begin training for track and field, where she participates in all throwing events.

This grade 12 student also enjoys great success in the classroom.  She has been awarded the school Academic Distinction Award for achieving an average over 90% the past three years.  She is currently in line for the award again this year with a 98% average.
