Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Essey Tekle Weldegebriel of the St. Boniface Centurions track & field team.

Tekle Weldegebriel took home 5 gold medals at the Zone 12 Track & Field Meet finishing first in the 100m (10.81), 200m (23.24), 400 (55.40), and two more first place finishes in the 4 x 100, and Medley Relays. Coach Brad Scott States, "Essey has an excellent work ethic and is a pleasure to coach and teach."

This grade 10 student maintains an 82% academic average and competes on the school basketball and soccer teams.
