AA Girls Athlete of the Year

Gianna Watt of Hapnot Collegiate maintained an academic average of 98% while participating in soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and track & field. She was the co-captain and starting keeper on her soccer team which captured a bronze medal at the Provincial Soccer Championships, where she was named an all-star. Gianna was the starting middle in volleyball, leading her team to a fourth place ranking in the province as well as a silver medal at the AA Provincial Volleyball Championships. This was the first provincial medal in volleyball in the school’s history, and she was also chosen as an all-star. She co-captained the basketball team and was named an all-star at the at the AA Provincial Basketball Championships where her team finished with the silver medal. She was a member of the grad committee, coached at the Future Kings and Kween’s Basketball camp, and volunteered as a score keeper for junior high basketball. She is a volunteer soccer coach for the U9 boys team, volunteered at the soccer keeper clinic, guest coached with the U16 female Mystics club basketball team, and is the keeper for the U19 female Lighting Phantom Lake soccer team. She will be attending the University of Saskatchewan in fall taking engineering.
