Overall Male Athlete of the Year & A Boys Athlete of the Year

Kieran Reid of Nellie McClung Collegiate holds an academic average of 93% and was a 2023 Manitoba’s Credit Unions Scholar Athlete of the Year. He played badminton, was the starting left-side hitter and captain of his volleyball team, the skip for his boys curling team, and played mixed doubles curling where he was a semi-finalist at the Provincial Mixed Doubles Curling Championships. Kieran was also a starting pitcher, back catcher, shortstop, and center fielder on the school’s baseball team, and competed in long jump, triple jump, 100m sprint, 4 x 100 relay and 100m hurdles. At the Provincial Track & Field Championships he finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles, 6th in triple jump and 7th in long jump. Kieran was part of his high school musical, and a member of the school’s yearbook and grad committees. He was a scorekeeper and timekeeper for basketball games and a junior varsity boys volleyball mentor. He participated in an educational group tour to Switzerland, France, Monaco, and Spain, helped prepare the library for renovations, and assisted with set up/cleanup duties for all the coffee house music evenings at the Manitou Opera House. Kieran is a member of the Pembina Hills 18U AAA baseball team, volunteers with maintenance and upkeep for the senior baseball diamonds, is a level 2 umpire, and volunteers as an assistant coach for the 11U baseball team.  Kieran also recently completed Baseball Canada’s NCCP Initiation Coaches clinic. He will be attending the University of Manitoba this fall.
