AAA Boys Athlete of the Year

Nicholas Parrott of Churchill High School participated in football, golf, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track &field, while maintaining an 80% average. He had nearly 1,000 yards rushing, 10.1 yards per carry average, six touchdowns, 11 defensive tackles, one sack, and was named the school’s offensive player of the year and a WHSFL Division 3 All Division Team All-Star. Nicholas qualified for the Provincial Track & Field Championships in the 4 x 100m, finishing second in the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Zone meet. He was a starter on the school’s basketball team and was named the Winnipeg Invitational Tournament Defensive MVP. He was a referee and scorekeeper for junior high volleyball and basketball games, a volunteer coach for the JV football spring camp, and organized the first ever Black History Month celebration at the school which was featured on CBC and in the Winnipeg Free Press. Nicholas will be playing for the CJFL’s Winnipeg Rifles football team.
