Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of The Week is Ben McLean of the Sturgeon Heights Huskies hockey team.

McLean helped lead the Huskies to a decisive 7-2 win over the Dakota Lancers in league play. Ben registered his first career WHSHL hattrick and added another assist for a 4 point night.  Coach Tyler Metcalfe states, "Ben is always positive. He never complains and always puts the team first. Ben is highly respected by his peers and coaches and is a perfect example of a high level multisport student-athlete as he competes for the Huskies Varsity Volleyball team and Lacrosse team all while balancing his academics".

In addition to being an assistant captain on the ice, McLean is a high achieving student in the classroom, enrolled in the French Immersion program where he has maintained an A average for the past 3 years.
