Payworks Coach of the Month

Corey has been a teacher and coach in Glenboro for over 20 years. Over the course of his teaching career, Corey has coached hockey, volleyball, badminton, fastball, and track and field.

Recently, the GCB Wildcats high school hockey team, in which Corey coaches and founded, won their first ever ‘AA’ Provincial Hockey Championship.  Along with coaching at Glenboro School and acting as the school’s athletic director, Corey is also the commissioner of the Westman High School Hockey League and was the convenor of the 2024 A Boys & Girls Provincial Basketball Championships.

Corey holds his players to a high standard on and off the ice. He is the first person to make sure his players are accountable in the classroom and are representing Glenboro School in the right way outside the school. One former player commented that “Mr. Forbes is a very positive coach, who trusts his players, and builds strong relationships with them!”

Forbsy, as he’s affectionately known around Glenboro School, also coaches Girls Fastball and High School Track and Field. The school is extremely thankful that he has spent his career teaching and coaching at Glenboro School.
