Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Laura Goodwin of the Vincent Massey Trojans badminton team is this week’s Home Run Sports Urban High School athlete of the week. This 5'5" mixed doubles player has won gold at both the College Louis Riel and Maples tournaments. She has also qualified along with her mixed doubles partner, Pardeep Khakh, for the Provincial Badminton Championships in May. Coach Martin Balcaen states, "Laura brings a great combination of maturity, drive to succeed, and poise to our team. Her leadership on and off the court is a main reason her and her mixed doubles partner Pardeep have been so successful in their three years playing VMC badminton". In grade 12, she maintains an average of 82%, while also participating in cross-country.
