Athlete of the Year

“AAAA” Boys - Ian Milne, of Garden Valley Collegiate in Winkler, was ranked #2 basketball player and #9 ranked volleyball player in the province.  During the year, Ian captured several all-star selections at tournaments and led his Zodiaks to the Provincial “AAAA” Basketball final, with 36 points where they were silver medallists.  This is the first time that a Winkler team has accomplished this feat.  As the Volleyball team captain, Ian led the team in kills, blocks and service aces.  Captain of the basketball team, he was the teams top scorer and re-bounder as well as a Provincial All-Star.  He participates in band and choir and is a minor basketball referee.
