Male Manitoba High School Athlete of the Year is Reed Eastley of Neelin High School in Brandon.  Eastley captained both the volleyball and basketball teams.  Reed was selected as an all-star at the University of Winnipeg and St. Vital volleyball tournaments, along with the Viking Classic.  He was Most Valuable Player at the Neelin tournament and was selected as an all-star at the provincial "AAAA" championship and in addition was awarded the Player's Choice Award.  Reed also was on the graduating all-star team and was recognized with the Dennis Nord Award, which goes to the top volleyball player combining academics and leadership.  Reed was also captain of the Spartan's basketball team which advanced to this year's Final Four.  He also participated on the Neelin curling team.  Outside of school sport, Reed is an outstanding baseball player and has signed a letter of intent to play Division I baseball at Niagara University starting the Fall of 2001.
