Dr. Dale Iwanoczko Memorial Scholarship

Melanie Edel of Morris School is a 5’ 11” middle / outside player with a 95% grade point average. This season Melanie led her team to the Zone 4 Championship and won the Morris Tournament. Melanie had numerous awards throughout the year including player of the game awards in various tournaments and the provincial championships, was named a Tri-Star rural athlete of the week and was also selected as an MVA Graduating All-Star. Melanie’s coach describes her as possessing the characteristics of focus, dedication, hard work and skills perfection. Melanie has also played on her school’s Basketball, Track and Field, Soccer, Badminton and Cross-Country teams. Melanie is also very active in extra-curricular activities such as being President of the Student Council, Senior Member of the Kids Caring for Kids Group (raises money for causes involving children), Yearbook Committee member, Coaches Grades 7/8 Basketball, is a swimming instructor, Piano Teacher, Sunday School Teacher and is a Level 1 Certified Volleyball Referee. Melanie hopes to continue playing sport at the CIS level and plans on pursuing a degree in Education where she can use her skills to give back coaching and helping kids.
