Dr. Dale Iwanoczko Memorial Scholarship

Brett Young, captain of the Souris Sabres, led his team to their third consecutive undefeated season in league play. They were in five tournament finals, winning the Portage Invitational, where he was selected as MVP.  At the “AA” Provincials he was named player of the game four times and selected to the all-star team on route to claiming the silver medals. Additionally, this 6’3” leftside was named an all-star at the BU Invitational, was selected to the Zone 9 All-Star team, named a Graduating All-Star and was a honorable mention in the Winnipeg Sun Top 10.  Brett coaches the middle years volleyball team at his school and has officiated volleyball  at the JV and middle years level. He also participates in golf, hockey, track, badminton, and beach volleyball.  He has been a member of the MVA provincial team for the past three years.  Brett maintains a 82% academic average and is currently considering attending Brandon University next year to pursue a degree in Business Administration.
