Welcome!
On behalf of the Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association, and its member schools, welcome to the 2019 MILK ‘A’ Provincial High School Basketball Championships.
Over 5,000 student athletes participate in high school basketball in Manitoba every year, making it one of our largest sports. A great deal of hard work has gone into practice, matches and tournaments in preparation for this Championship. All teams have now focused their attention on this weekend with the goal of becoming Provincial Champions. We wish you success as you strive to achieve your ultimate goal and hope that the Provincials will be a special memory for you all.
Thank you to the organizing committee for your efforts in hosting this event. The support of all the student and staff volunteers is very much appreciated and is a very valued component to the overall success of this Championship.

Greetings!
On behalf of Institut Collégial St. Paul’s Collegiate, I would like to welcome you to the 2019 "A" Boys Provincial Basketball Championships. Our outstanding organizing committee has worked tirelessly over the past months in preparing for this tournament, and we are very excited to showcase our school and community in hosting this marquee event.
We also have many volunteers and sponsors to thank, as without their generous support, this tournament would not be possible. We greatly appreciate their time, energy, and financial contributions in driving the organization of this championship.
We anticipate that many of our travelling teams will be staying in neighbouring cities, but we encourage participants to spend some time in our beautiful town, and enjoy some warm prairie hospitality.
I wish all teams the best of luck in this tournament. While only one champion will be crowned on March 16th, I hope that all players and coaches will take great pride in their season’s accomplishments, and that they will form long-lasting positive memories from this event.

Nous avons un comité qui a travaillé très fort avec tous les préparatifs pour ce grand évènement.

Championship Information
Opening Ceremonies
Opening Ceremonies will take place at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 14th.
Luncheon
St. Paul's Collegiate will be hosting a drop-in luncheon for all players, coaches, officials, and sponsors at the Elie Veteran's Hall at 34 Main Street.

Canteen Information
A canteen will be available at St. Paul's Collegiate for the duration of the tournament. Some of the items that will be available include wraps, pizza, hot dogs, french fries, poutine, pasta salad, muffins, cinnamon buns, and chips. Beverages will include coffee, milk, chocolate milk, Powerade, and juice boxes. Not all menu items will be available each day. Subject to change.
Players Lounge
St. Paul's Collegiate will have a Players Lounge set up in our Multi-Purpose Room. Players are invited to relax and hang out there during the day. We will have Ping Pong tables set up as well as providing a live stream of all of the action taking place in the gym.
Coaches and Officials Lounge
A coaches and officials room will be set up in Room 110. Snacks and beverages will be refreshed periodically each day.
Championship Photos
A photographer will be present throughout the tournament taking some action shots of the games. Many of these pictures will be made available on our Twitter and Instagram accounts. A Google Drive folder is also available containing photos for downloading at the following link.
Player of the Game
After each game, coaches will select a Player of the Game from each team. The Player of the Game will be awarded a T-Shirt and will be photographed for both Instagram and Twitter. We have a stock of t-shirts in various sizes and heat press on site. We will get the players' details and custom make each player's shirt to ensure that they get the proper size. Winners will be able to pick up their shirts shortly after their game.
Championship All-Stars / MVP
5 All-Stars and a Tournament MVP will be selected at the conclusion of the tournament.
Players Choice Award
The Players Choice Award is sponsored by the Dairy Farmers of Manitoba. The captain of each participating team will be given a players choice award sheet prior to the championships. This sheet will include the criteria, a contact of the host school to hand their selections in to, and exactly how the process works. Each Team votes for one member of their team as well as four players from other teams. This player should be representative of the following qualities:
- Must be a participating player in the Provincial High School Championship
- Display leadership qualities
- Exemplify tenacity and dedication to their team
- Exemplify a positive attitude towards officials, teammates and opponents
- Role model for others
The Players Choice Award will be handed out immediately after the all-stars are awarded. The Players Choice Award MAY be one of the all-stars or the MVP.
